Smile New Stats Tool - In-Depth Breakdowns Now Available - Try it out

Just got done working on something tonight, and am looking for the statistical minds in here to test it out:

2011 Patriots Stats - Breakdown By Game Parameters

Basically with the above link you can select a group of games for comparison, along with parameters. For example: Say you want to see how Tom Brady has been through the first 8 games on 3rd down vs. the final 8, etc. Now you can.

I've tested a bunch of parameters and added them up separately and it appears to be working, so try it out and let me know what you think - and obviously point out any errors if you see any.

Ian, looks cool. One question, will defensive stats be incorporated? As we all know, that is where the biggest dispute has been here, does the D suck or not?

I've been looking into that, but that's a little tougher because it's more subjective and the sheets don't necessarily always have the exact information.

As for this season, the defensive numbers are being manipulated in so many ways that it's an argument that can be made either way, and if you listen to the radio or read the newspapers - it already is.

Thanks. Spent a lot of time putting this together for everyone and entered in every play from this season (over 1000+) thinking people would find this to be a pretty cool tool. You can break down a lot of different scenarios now, which normally you'd have to do by hand and manually add them.

Posted this thread yesterday that has some other links to some different breakdowns also:

Another bump. Try this out, you can breakdown all kinds of different scenarios for passing, red zone passing, red zone receiving, direction, etc. I've audited each individual game for accuracy, so these numbers are indeed exact.

Very cool, Ian. Interesting to note how much better they (Ridley, in particular) were when rushing to the right.

Thanks Myles. I'm going to try and narrow that down a little better in terms of whether they ran off tackle, behind the guard, or around the end.

I've also got 2010 entered in, but am still going over the #'s one more time. All the totals already match, I'm just double checking the downs, distance, field postion, etc.

There's also more still coming on this year's #'s. I'm still working on more to make this as extensive as possible, so obviously pass along any thoughts, suggestions, requests, etc. if you have any
