Default New England and Houston

How much does either team want to win this week? isn't a week to rest all the injured?

I have no idea how Houston will approach their game. I'd personally rest up.

NE should absolutely want to win and get the #1 seed. I'd want to rest Light/Mankins/BJGE though. Chung/Spikes/Vollmer if possible would be nice to get them up to game speed, if rest is crucial to their recovery though let them get the extra 3 weeks to heal up.

We need that first seed. And especially with the season's worst first half yesterday, I think BB goes all in vs. Buffalo. If we build a big lead through the third quarter that might be occasion for resting people.

It would seem to make sense for Houston to rest people.

To me it's really two entirely different situations.

The Pats have a bye; Houston does not. The Pats resting players would be essentially giving them two weeks off and potentially getting them rusty and out of synch. The Texans resting players would only be giving them one week off ... though on the other hand, they may want to give Yates a few more game reps.

A Pats win clinches home field advantage for the AFCCG should the Pats get that far. A Houston win doesn't change anything for the Texans, other than perhaps a little bit more confidence going into the post-season.

Don't know about Houston, but home field through out the playoffs for us could not hurt.

Honestly I just hope to see Chung and Spikes get some playing time againts the Bills. Just to knock some rust off..

If Houston loses, TENN will be in the playoffs. Houston will likely beat them (or Cinci) the next week in Houston. HOU will then go on to play the #2 seed.

Just how hard should we try to play PITT and BALT at home instead of HOU at home and BALT away?

I too would like to see Spikes and Chung just to know that they are able to play.

Resting Welkah and Branch would be fine with me. But I really want to see Chung and Spikes get some reps. Those are 2 guys I really think we need to make a run in the play-offs. Who I would be a little worried about with no reps before the playoffs..

If Houston loses next week then they go into the playoffs with a three-game losing streak. If that is the case I would not be the least bit surprised if they lose in the first round, regardless of who their opponent is.
