Felger used to talk about this a lot on his radio show. His choice was always Carson Palmer because of the age difference and presumed upside...
Thing about Tommy is he also saves you $$$ you can use to upgrade elsewhere... And you can spend that $$$ savings on defense if so inclined and he'll still get you deep into the playoffs with whatever offensive weapons you were able to hobble together...
There was a poll done during last year's training camp, ask the players coaches and league personnels bunch questions, one of them is which QB other then their own would they choose. Tom brady got 65%, and Manning got 35%, that was after the year manning won the superbowl. I think those people know whose better, doesn't matter if brady own those record or not.
Brady is the better QB because in his career he has continually done more with less and he doesn't play 80%+ of his games in domes and great weather. There is no doubt in my mind Brady is the best, possibly ever.

I am glad that Brady got the nod, but I find these polls useless. I am more interested in who are the two coaches who didn't vote. We all know Belichick is one of them since he wouldn't give ESPN the time of day, but who is the other one. I am betting it is Wade Phillips. I am betting he wanted to tell TO that he would have voted for him him but didn't get back to ESPN in time rather than looking like an idiot and actually voting for TO.
I disagree with a lot of the comments in here. MOST coaches IMO would have voted for Brady and his 3 rings in 2005. There are NO DOUBT some coaches who have never won, who won't attach greatness to winning, but most of them don't last.
The 6, IMO, are Dungy (and i cant blame him) and 5 other guys who never win and think its not their fault, its the hand they were dealt. I'd guess Herman Edwards is one, Marvin Lewis may be another, Norv Turner definitely, Del Rio may be one as well, Andy Reid likely.
Whenever I see one of these things, I still flash back for a second or two to the fact that the guy was a sixth round pick. All time best making the most of what you have, if not all time best QB. I think I'd still take Montana, but another ring for Brady might change that.

Yea, I got money that says Bill did not do the survey.
I can hear him now, "ESPN wants me to do a survey for an Article they are writting..............uh no."

Trying to figure a way to discredit 22 NFL Head Coaches. Probably got their handy dandy NFL Stat book out...the one with the page missing labeled "Most Super Bowls won by a QB".
