Default 2007 or 2008 - Which has been the longer offseason for you?

Last year in 2007 we were all very anxious to see all of our new guys (Moss,Welker,Thomas ect: ) and we were all excited to get the season started knowing that 2007 would be a pretty good year even in the offseason.

This year we go though this spygate stuff and all the accusations and negativity from media and other authorities towards this organization and once again we are all anxious to get this season on track and thus spygate should subside once the games begin.

Which of these 2 offseasons have been the longest and which year have you been more excited to see come?

Knowing this is a new year and last year is over you might obviously be leaning towards this season but just forget what transpired during the actual season of 2007 and go back to what you felt in May of 2007 and now in May on 2008 and compare your excitement and anticipation.

08, the whole nonsense with spygate, then FA if Moss was coming back, , then back to spygate, not to mention the game that started this all on feb 3rd...

07 , the 2 weeks were rough after the afc title game, but then FA happened and all was forgotten.. The anxious part of the season to start was long, but this has been a long offseason.. 08 by far.

I think 07 was longer in that after the free agent spending spree was over in March, it was really quiet until the draft. At least this year we have had SOMETHING to talk about. Granted, it isn't something we'd LIKE to discuss but there has been plenty of Patriots related media out there.

In terms of looking at the calendar and saying, "holy cow, we are only 10 weeks away from training camp?" No doubt, last year was longer. That is probably in part to how excited we all were to see the new editions on the field.

The true test will be the "dead period" from the end of OTA's in early June to the week camp begins in mid-late July. That is ALWAYS the hardest for me. It is one of the reasons I hate summer.

Definitely last year. Dealing with that 2nd-half debacle, having to watch that choker Manning and the Colts take home the Lombardi, all offseason I wondered if the torch has officially been passed and if the Pats' best days are behind them. Even the first 8 weeks of '07 felt "long" because we hadn't played Indy yet. Since the 2007 Pats reasserted themselves as an elite team, I feel pretty good about where the Pats are personnel-wise coming into 2008.

Maybe I am just worn-out from the 5-month long circus that was the 2007 season, but this offseason has been a (rare) welcome break.

The 2007 offseason definitely was longer. I think the main difference is the Pats have been in the news so much plus the fact we played our last game in February. I hope the players feel like they've had a decent break and come back refreshed. Even more than last season, I want this team to go undefeated and win the Super Bowl and slam the door on the naysayers once and for all.

Time for BB's Eff-You NFL/Media Tour II, 2008-2009!

We have the Celtics to carry us through this off-season.

Would anyone be happy just winning the Super Bowl with a ho-hum 17-2 or 16-3 record? Our brush with immortality has certainly raised expectations.

I consider any season in which the Pats win a playoff game to be at least a relative success. In other words: I'd be more than happy with another 17-2 SB-winning season. That said, I want 19-0.

2007 season because I didn't know what our offense was going to be capable of with the new additions on the team. Plus, add to that, the 2006 AFCC loss to the Colts. Very long offseason. This year, I know what to expect from the offense and Moss. Also, the Spygate crap has seemed to speed up the offseason for me. Can't wait until week 1!
