Re: Jonathan Kraft says Tomase article affected team's prep for Super Bowl
True or untrue (I believe it has merit personally), I am gonna take the high road and pin the win squarely on the superior game plan and execution by the Giants.
Beyond that, nothing else matters, no matter how pissed off I am about it.

NE was ready to go, so as far as this affecting preparation, I do not buy it. Maybe it got in their heads, but I doubt Assante was thinking about anything but picking Manning off, he missed it. Tyree made a great play. Burress somehow got by Hobbs, and that was that. Give the G-Men some credit. They brought the pressure big time, and there was nothing BB would have done that Friday or Saturday that he was prevented from doing because of this story. You ought to be happy that this hasn't died. It just provides additioanl fuel to make another run at an undefeated season. Your schedule is favorable, the majority of your team is intact, and you have as much motivation as ever.
This is what I wrote about the issue in conclusion: "It was most likely because they were being outcoached by the Giants. However, it's at least significant to note that the Patriots coaching staff has NEVER looked so bad, and that this awful performance by the staff coincided with having been VERY distracted the day before."
Every statement in the above three sentences is a fact.

Great minds must think alike...I've posted very similar thoughts on a number of threads. From specific, individual plays to not adjusting the gameplan to a failure to realize--until it was late in the 3rd quarter--what it was the Giants were doing on defense, that was the worst-coached game I've ever seen by a Belichick-run team. It certainly CAN be a coincidence, and the story certainly may not have had any effect, but the flip-side is also possible...and again, that's all we're saying here.

It's too easy to retro fit the excuse. After the Colts last year, it was heat (which I do not remember cool zones on the Colts' sideline) and the travel, and the flu. This past season, it was the distraction of the new allegations. I don't buy it. BB and the Pats were WELL PREPARED going in to Arizona. Distracted a bit, sure, but the Giants still played a whale of a game, and I don't think that O-Line was thinking about Spygate when trying to stop that pass rush. The funny thing is, it came out of your own camp, your own city. Tomase might have gone to the Kravitz school of journalism, I could see him pulling the same stunt. In the end, it looks like excuses. give the Giant their due. They earned it.
Re: Jonathan Kraft says Tomase article affected team's prep for Super Bowl
It really doesn't matter if it had an effect on the game or not. The Pats lost, there is no going back...just time to move on. It's the '08 season now. Hopefully they'll get it done this year
Re: Jonathan Kraft says Tomase article affected team's prep for Super Bowl
I dont think Kraft is making excuses to the fans as to why they lost the game. I believe he is just putting on the shoes that he is going to wear when he roundhouse kicks the Herald in the face in court Chuck Norris stryle.
