Default Senator Specter's speech on floor of the Senate...

Sorry..Didn't mean to pollute the board with another thread but here's the official speech from the senior Senator from PA with a noting of the errors in his speech by ESPN. It's not like there's anything important going on in the country like 2 wars, skyrocketing gas and food prices and a home mortgage crisis that might be a tad more pressing matter.......

Errors in Specter document

Sen. Arlen Specter's analysis of the Patriots' videotaping situation contains some errors:

Page 1: In the fourth paragraph, Specter said that Walsh provided him with a list of games where, as a season ticket holder from 2003-05, he witnessed Steve Scarnecchia videotape games. The first game listed occurred in 2002, however. The third game listed was on the road.
Page 2:In the second paragraph, Marshall Faulk is listed as a punt returner in the 2002 Super Bowl. On the first play of that game, Faulk was a kick returner.
Page 4: In the fourth paragraph, the Steelers are noted as having no sacks in the AFC Championship Game. They had two sacks.
In the last paragraph, Specter said Sheldon Brown played for the Eagles, not the Steelers. Also, Brown has previously called into question the Patriots defensive play-calling in Super Bowl XXXIX, not the AFC Championship Game.
Page 6: The quote from today's New York Times is not entirely Mark Schlereth's. Schlereth said: "Then why are you doing it against teams you aren't going to play again that season?" He also said, "I don't see them wasting time if they weren't using it in that game." The rest of the quoted material is a quote from the article, not Schlereth.
• You can read Specter's entire document: Statement (pdf)

Fine if Sen Comcast wants a full investigation then why not make it include the entire NFL, since he is so concerned about what college and high school kids think of cheating.

They should also look into the following:
*An investigation into the Eagles tampering with Asante Samuel.
*An investigation into the Jets cameraman who supposedly received permission from the Patriots in 2006.
*An investigation into the Miami audio tapes of Brady, how did they get those tapes?
*An investigation into the Colts pumping crowd noise.
*An investigation into how Merriman got his steroids.
*An investigation into the Broncos violating the salary cap during their back to back SB yrs.
*An investigation into the Cowboys taped signals in their 's 90 title runs.
*An investigation into the Steelers doctor who had his hands all over steroids.
*An investigation into the Telescope Ray Anderson from the NFL saw spying on the Pats SB practice in 2002.
*An investigation into the Colts' line coach, Howard Mudd, the so called best in the bus at stealing signals.
*An investigation into the 49ers salary cap violations during their great yrs.

All of the above is "cheating," so let's look into all of it and clean up the entire league Sen Spector.

How about an investigation into why Specter is spending so much time on this instead of helping his constituents. Everything must be perfect in PA.

"Specter said Sheldon Brown played for the Eagles, not the Steelers."

Sheldon Brown does play and always has played for the Eagles.

ESPN meant to say it the other way around. Specter did say the Steelers:

Quote:
In addition, Steelers cornerback, Sheldon Brown, reportedly said earlier this year
that he noticed a difference in New England’s playcalling in the second quarter of
the January 27, 2002 AFC Championship game.
(And that has to be one the funniest "you think?" things I've ever read -- no ****, it's called halftime adjustments...)

I laughed when he told everybody that he didn't know how much Comcast 'contributed' in his compaign. Did your staffs not document everybody's contribution.? I'm sure that you know top 5 contributors in your list. Come on.!

He is a pathetic liar. He only cares about football this time.??? What happened to his careness in the last 10 years.?

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
Arlen Specter has taken $153,600 in campaign contributions from Comcast or those affiliated with Comcast as employees or through its PAC. The only firm which has given more money to Specter is the law firm Blank Rome, LLP, which represents Comcast and which has given Specter $358,453 although the organization itself did not donate, rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families.

Yea, and as Brady said, "Of course we're gonna throw a lot of screens. They blitz on every play!" Classic stuff from Mr Brown.

There is no way to do an independent investigation into one team. An investigation would have to look into the entire entity...this being the NFL. I would welcome that. It would be a hoot. After all, there is not much else left to find on the Pats. I say start with the Broncos....I want to see Schlereth's head explode.

You are correct I would imagine.....although Sphincter will do a soft investigation on everyone else and then come out with a vengeance after the Patriots.....I think the key thing here is that Sphincter is dying from cancer.......Since he is on a one man, self serving,(well that and comcast) witch hunt against the Pats, and since no other senator/congressman/congresswoman has ANY INTEREST in this.......Once he kicks the bucket....this will die with him........
