Wow, Bruce Allen is right. What a bunch of hypocrits over at the Herald.
Hey, Herald, what's good for the goose and good for the gander?

Hey, they used the word "sorry". Apparently, that's all that matters to them ...
But yes -- great catch.
Of course, the Herald will claim they were trying to do the right thing, while the Pats were knowingly cheating. Uh, no. Both pushed beyond known boundaries; both caused harm. The situations are indeed pretty similar.

I think the Herald is worse.BB had been doing this for years with no real repercussions ,so he probably felt it was buisness as usual. The Herald on the other hand had no (for lack of a better word) buisness printing an unsubstantiated story especially just before the SB.

Accountability is the key - we need to hear in detail from Tomase and his editor who should have stopped such a story even in the offseason, let alone on the eve of the Super Bowl, given the fact that they had absolutely no credible evidence.
That's a low journalistic standard that needs to be addressed if the Herald expects to regain any credibility.
I can't help but wonder if theories that they were used by Levy (an attorney with ties to Comcast) who might have corroborated an actual false claim by Walsh that he had walk through tapes, just to put heat on the NFL, are correct.
By the way - am I the only one insulted by the picture of a Lombardi trophy being held up alongside the "Sorry" headline?
What is that - the trophy that the Herald cost the Patriots with a distracting false allegation the eve of the Super Bowl?
I guess in that respect it's fitting but I don't think that's how the Herald meant it to be. It's a jingoistic front page with them trying to jump back on the bandwagon as something less than a publication who, far from being neutral, sought to distract the hometown team with a story they now admit they had no evidence to back up.

No Joe your not,so am i. Its outright patronizing of the fans to use the trophy as a prop to get themselves off.
Actually for a reading-impaired Herald subscriber (and, really, is there any other kind?) if one misses that little comma - - it looks like "Sorry Pats".

It's more like punching someone in the nuts then saying "I'm sorry" in front of a picture of a Eva Longoria.

I don't like Dungy and that's because he [was] the head coach of the Colts. Period. End of question. The degree to which I like a player or coach is predicated solely on the color of the laundry they wear on Sunday. When fans admit this and stop bashing players and coaches for any other reason, the world of sports will be infinitely improved.
