We are not so bad yet if you compare around the league......
There are so many guys I see on the gameday thread who said we should spend some big money on picking up the big name free agents in the offseason, especially the pass rushers. Ok, let's see if that will really helps a team to win more games, how about let's use the example of the "Dream Team", the Eagles? Today, there 100 million dallor man Vick just went down for the second straight game with a broken hand, their defense, which is loaded with big name free agent corners and pass rushers, failed to intercept one of the most intercepted QB in the league which is Eli manning, and let gaints put up some good scores. So to all those people who want the front office to spend big money on big names, no, it will not help the team win more games, Andy Reid is already paying for it, his dream team is 1-2 and we are 2-1, glad the Jets also lost today, Oakland did us a huge favor. Now we can only hope we can bouce back from this week's lose aginist oakland next week, and the bills will give the Jets the same treatment when they face them~~~
P.S. Did Vick really complaint about the refs not making the call to protect him? Does he realize he is an ex-con and people around the country still hates him? And most importantly, who the hell does he think he is, like he is thinking the refs is going to protect him like they protect Brady????

Also forget to metion the Falcons, all that picks they give up for Jones, and what's happening? 1-2 and lost to the Bucs. We spend 1.5 million for big AL and 3 million for Ocho, should not expect that much from them from the beginning period, there will be no free agent pick up as a huge factor as Moss in many years around the league to come......
Re: We are not so bad yet if you compare around the league......
"we are not so bad yet". The "yet" is not needed. We beat Miami in Miami (a traditionally difficult place to win in for the Patriots). We beat a SD team many believe is in the upper echelon of teams. And we barely lost to a division rival that was 2-0 and playing well coming into this game. We not only are not bad yet, we are pretty good despite some shortcomings. With the offense we have we will win plenty of games. And just a marginal up tick in defensive play and we will be among the best teams. As far as "yet", all teams fit into the category of "not bad yet". All teams as of week 3 are still an unknown. If week 3 determined who was good and who is not, the Patriots under Pete Carroll was the best team in the league every year with the possible exception of Miami (a team which was often the best team in Sept and lousy in Dec).
I don't know if this is something BB originated or he's just aping it (paraphrased): "You are never as bad as it seems after a loss, and never as good as it seems after a win". Everyone take a deep breath, relax, and let's see what we can do next week. There is still A LOT of football to be played and plenty of improvement possible.
