I know that, if the tickets are e-tickets that were forwarded from the persons season ticket account, the barcodes would supercede the barcodes found on the hardstock tickets.
Vice versa though.
If you were given the hardstock tickets, the barcodes could be invalidated by printing e-tickets off the season ticket account.
And the whole thing would be fine if the person isn't a season ticket holder at all, because then you wouldn't have to stress too much about it.

That's a great point TS.
I hate to be negative, or to freak the poor poster out, but I bought tix to the Steeler/Pats game here in Pittsburgh on Oct.30th, and I believe that I saw an option to report your tickets lost/stolen/never received in the mail on the website. In which case they would allow you to print them out via e-ticket off of the website. So I don't believe that you necessarily have to be a season ticket holder to re-print e-tickets, thus making the original hard tickets invalid.
With the whole "e-ticket" option now, it is making it much easier to sell tickets (hard or printed) that are no good. That is unfortunate.
If it were me, I'd at least call Ticketmaster and ask anyway, just to settle myself and exhaust all options; but if TealSox already has experience with this issue, then that may not be an option.
Best of luck to you, my friend.
