Default The PATS and JETS Got Screwed! [Uh, no]

God, I hate to join the Pats with New York of all teams in this gripe, but both the Pats and Jets will have all ROAD games with Oakland, San Fran, San Diego and Seattle. While Miami and Buffalo get all 4 of those teams at HOME?? How on Earth does that happen? Before looking at the Jets' schedule, I was prepared to think it was an isolated measure against the Pats to tighten up the division a little. But 2 teams that each play ALL FOUR west coast opponents on the road, while the other 2 get off scott free? These scheduling quirks are really amazing. Makes you wonder. Anyone have an answer, or is it just completely random and without specific reasoning?

It is the result of a formula that was designed back in 2002. The fact that the Pats would play these games on the road in 2008 was known back then.

Correct.

Also, since you play each AFC division every 3 years and each NFC division every 4 years, we will play both Western divsion teams every 12 years. And we will play the west coast teams in the same year every 24! years. It's not a big deal.

Above of course assumes that the league structure remains the same and there is no team in LA. But for purposes of this discussion, it's fine.
