The Patriots announced the re-signings of offensive lineman Wesley Britt and outside linebacker Pierre Woods today. Both players were exclusive rights free agents, which meant their returns were expected once the Patriots tendered them contracts.

Great, did Woods' contract include a clause that states that half is salary is to be returned if he ever lets a RB half his weight and strength roll him over and rip a football out of his arms during the biggest game in this franchise's existence?

I wonder if he slept that night, I know I didn't, thanks Pierre for costing us a game changing turnover on the Giant 30 yard line.............Up 7-3 with a chance to go up by 11...........thanks for showing guts and strength Pierre, that was the weakest football play I've seen in quite a long time........Sorry to digress..........

Go back and watch the play, he never had his arms on it at all - the ball rolled under him and he rolled over the ball enabling it to be recovered by the Giants. Yes, he should have had the damn ball..but, no, do not blame him totally, that was only one of about 6 such game changers that went the Giants way. Every freaking play went their way...

Total team effort losing that one.....

Dude, Pierre showed the heart of a gerbil on that play, he was on top of the football, arms or not, that was his football. He's a 245lb muscular OLB, he let little Ahmad Bradshaw roll him over and steal that football. That was inexcusable and I'll never, ever forget that play. That was beyond weak, especially in a game of that magnitude. Bradshaw showed he had more heart in his right index finger than Woods had in his full head to toe body.

Is there an area on patsfans that includes who gives a crap threads,Thats what signing these two perrenial lifetime backups mean to me,Now getting Wilfork a big extention would be nice instead of these near no namers getting contracts but its a slow period so I guess this is big news in some eyes .

For me, any article by Reiss involving player signings is more relevant than half of our threads. And yes, I do understand that many would rather read and post about Merriman's car being stolen, spygate, SF cheating, Jim Sorgi and football simulators.

I would much rather discuss the end of the bench players, or even the long-shots to make the team. I would rather discuss potential jags that we might sign.

For me, backups and depth are critical to the patriots. It makes a difference whether Wright can backup at NT or just at DE, and how much fall-off there is when one of the DL starters or OL starters is injured.

These guys weren't going anywhere. They were exclusive rights free

agents and could not sign with another team.
