Default Raiders Cornerback Fabian Washington expected to be shopped by the Raiders

Heard this on Sirius Radio today and the only reason he has not been traded yet is the unfinished business with DeAngelo Hall but the Raiders will be shopping him around the league.

Decent stats for the 4th year pro and maybe a possibility for this team,I could see us doing a lower draft pick trade or two for him who I don't expect that he will be asking major bucks.

He's always pretty good in Madden...

I thought they were going to release Asomugha from the Franchise desination if they signed Hall, not trade Washington cause it would cost too much to keep Asomugha and Hall?

Fabian Washington is one of the fastest players in the NFL. If I remember correctly he had a sub 4.3 forty time.

I think his speed is why he is good in Madden.

I wanted him in the draft back than because of the speed. He has managed to show some talent for a crappy Raiders team, this could be worth a shot and shouldn't cost much.

Yeh you're right, that why he always develops at a faster rate than Asomugha in the game.

I believe he ran a 4.29, not sure though.

I almost made a thread concerning this, after reading the fallowing blurb on Rotoworld"

Quote:
The San Francisco Chronicle confirms that the Raiders are actively shopping CB Fabian Washington.
If Washington hadn't lost his confidence and job to Stanford Routt in 2007 and been accused of domestic battery in February, his value would be a lot higher. As is, Oakland shouldn't be asking for more than a third-round pick
Here's the SF Chronicle article they link to:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl.../SPR2VLI22.DTL

Knowing the Raiders, it would probably only cost a fourth rounder to secure his services, and he's still only 24 years old.

Here's the notables on Washington:

Selected 23rd overall in the 2005 NFL draft.

Stats:
2005: 16 games, 43 TT's (40 solo), 5 PD's.
2006: 14 games, 40 TT's (39 solo), 15 PD's, 4 INT's
2007: 15 games, 40 TT's (33 solo), 8 PD's, 1 INT, 1 FF

Scouting report:
Grade: 70 | Key
Alert: B

Comment: Washington has adequate size for the position to go along with excellent speed, quickness and agility. He has very quick feet when backpedaling and does a very good job of keeping his chin over his toes and his weight evenly distributed. He can be a little choppy in his pedal but still manages to extend the cushion well. He can plant and drive on the ball with top quickness and is unrestricted in his transition. He has a good burst to close on the ball and has the hand-eye coordination to make plays on the ball. He is still a bit raw on route recognition when in man off or zone but has enough explosive quickness to recover and maintain relationship. He has good leaping ability to challenge taller receivers to the ball. He is not timid about coming up to force the ball in run support but is not a strong tackler, although he will get the job done in that area. Washington has a chance to be a shutdown corner with more experience and work.

So he wasn't great to begin with loses his job and has a battery but hey he can get us a 3rd round pick when all we could get for Moss was a 4th rd pick. hmmmm.

3 is to high for me before I heard of the battery, I'ld do it for a 5th rd pick or maybe a conditional pick.

Would he be worth our (as in, 94) 3rd? He sounds solid, but at the same time, there are some good players that'll be available in the 3rd for us either at ILB, Goff, Bell or CB, Godfrey, Jackson.

I don't know about that. With the Patriots ability to coach up players, I could see them getting some return out if his top notch potential. Also, he's well worth a 4th, but I don't know what the Raiders want.

I'd offer then the Pats 5th round pick.
