Al Davis has lost his mind. Even Walker's old coach Mike Shanahan said the receiver eventually needed microfracture surgery on his chronically sore knee. Walker gained 57 yards on seven catches in his last five games last year, and barely seemed able to run. Perhaps he'll recover, but Walker isn't worth Randy Moss money even when healthy. Like Moss' deal with Oakland, this one could end ugly.

The Moss deal (and Moss for taking it) I suspect will look better and better with each passing day.

and i think javon is about half as good as randy moss....

so they paid him 4times what they should have

Uh, no, the deal makes him 3 years younger. It's six years for twice the $ of 3 years. The guaranteed money is proportionately less.... although it guarantees that a good deal of that 6 years' time will be served.

I don't even bother calling my cousin the Raiders fan any more. He gave up two years ago. Said they are out of it until Al gets planted and the team gets sold.

IF that contract has a team option in it somewhere, then it's actually very similar to Randy's. over the first three years Walker is scheduled to earn $27M, and he's guaranteed $16M. Moss is scheduled to earn $27M, and he's guaranteed $15M, right? So, they overpaid (substantially) for a WR who's coming off severe injuries and needs microfracture surgery, but you're calculations are a little off.

Pathetic Raiders can't get anybody to play for them unless they completely overpay. So Walker holds his nose and takes the money in Oakland for however many years he lasts.

All I can say is that I'm glad the Patriots got the Randy Moss deal done BEFORE news of this hit. Moss is a better receiver than Walker by far. The Raiders overpaid like punch-drunk sailors looking for a hot piece of action. But when they unwrapped their present, she looked like she had seen better days.
