It would be a mistake to get rid of Tate. He is a talented playmaker and still room to get better.

There are limited roster spots available. Johnson/Branch/Welker are clearly the 3 best WRs on the roster, at least going into camp. That leaves Edelman (the team's only backup for Welker), Tate and Price. So, are you keeping 7 wideouts at the expense of other positions, or are you cutting one of the bottom 3+Slater?

You can't have it both ways.

Tate offers more value than Edelman IMO.

He's one of the few WR's who can "go deep" on our team.

Welker, Edelman, and Price are all "possession" type receivers. Even Branch is at this point in his career.

I don't see the point of keeping 6 WRs+Slater with all the D-linemen the pats have, as well as keep a 3rd QB.

The first three of your * have changed. The ball on kickoff has been moved from the 30 up to the 35. Many more touchbacks and fewer long returns.

So now your down to your last * , 24 receptions for 432 yards. He is certainly on the bubble. It hurts Tate that Ochochino has been added, Price has significantly improved and Edelman is the team's punt returner, and back up slot receiver.

I dont know why everyone here is so high on Edelman?I think Edelman or Tate, one of the two will be cut or both

Two reasons. Clearly the best punt returner on the team. Reason two, when in the slot, Edelman was good. I believe he had 10 catches in one game in the slot when Welker was injured. If Welker gets injured again ( or does not resign ) you have your slot receiver in Edelman.

Having said that, when forced to play outside roles as he has recently, he is nothing to write home about.
