The only one in recent memory I can think of was the SB XX when we lost 46-10 to Chicago. I know we lost 50-0 to the Dolphins perfect '72 season but I can't think of any others Reg. season Pre-season Playoffs or otherwise. Let me know which ones I missed.
From Pro Football Reference, it's happened eight times:
1993 @NYJ: L 45-7
1990 @NYJ: L 42-7
1988 @GB: L 45-3
1979 @DEN: L 45-10
1972 @MIA: L 52-0
1971 @MIA: L 41-3
1970 @CIN: L 45-7
1970 v.(!) BUF: L 45-10
Conversely, they've won 14 games by 5 TDs or more, six of those in the last five seasons.

I look on PFR alot too, but your research skills are unmatched ct. Good stuff. I tried to look up pre-season and came up short on answers but thanx for your diligence. Your excellent.
worst loss of the Belichick era would be, I'd guess, the 31-0 loss to Buffalo in the opener in 2003(?) which prompted the ESPN idiot Tom Jackson to declare that the Patriots "hate their coach" after he cut Lawyer Milloy.
Avenged 31-0 in the season finale, then with a big trophy and a ring...

The first time I saw Woodhead play last year, literally within 1 to 2 plays, I decided he would be my binky. Of course a few players later, he was EVERYONE'S binky thanks to his performance.
Ridley has convinced me with his first run tonight. I didn't know much about him other than that he was a captain from LSU and stayed for his senior year. I vaguely knew he was the "power" back of our two draftees, while Vareen was the "Faulk-ish" back. But I didn't realize how much speed he had, and his first play showed more wiggle and vision that Maroney ever did.
Every year it seems a 2nd or 3rd round rookie RB explodes for some team after he was drafted with little fanfare. I rarely have such gut reactions, but watching Ridley play makes me feel like he could have a very good year.
Benny better watch his back.
Ridley came out after his junior year. He could have went back to LSU. Thankfully he didn't. I had a hunch we'd draft him because he could run and play special teams. Seemed like a good fit for us and he's showing it. Can't wait to see Vereen healthy.

That's the one that I was thinking of.... certainly felt like a 5 TD loss...
QB -- Amazingly good
OL -- Looking very good, slight depth concerns at interior OL notwithstanding
TE -- Looking very good, some oopsies in the Jags game notwithstanding
RB -- Looking very good, even though Woody is small, Ridley is young, and Sammy is old
WR -- Looking very solid, assuming Branch stays healthy at least until Ochocinco gets over his jitters, which I think is a very good bet
DL (classic) -- Looking like there's a LOT of talent in the competition, so there's good hope
DL (edge)/OLB (3-4) -- Who the heck knows?
ILB/MLB -- Looking very good
S -- Looking OK because of Chung, but Meriweather and quality depth are issues
CB -- Looking 3 deep
Kickers -- Looking fine, Gost's injury caution notwithstanding
STs otherwise -- Scary

Great write-up by Greg Bedard on what the Patriots were doing on D last night. Interesting note that there were 16 team's scouts there last night. Might make it tough come cut time (harder to slip players past other teams).
