Default Kendrell Bell 3-4 ILB

6-1 245 according to chiefs website
played ILB for PIT and played quite well for them

I think we should bring him in for a look to play inside
and at 30 years old he fits the veteran mold we are looking for

anyone watch him in KC? obviously he was better in PIT since he was a big singing for KC, but now he seems to be a JAG.
So is it a matter of diminished skill or the wrong system (he did well playing ILB in the 3-4, not so well in the 4-3)

Could probably be had cheap.
Thoughts?

He had a great rookie year in PIT, but it doesn't seem like he's done much since. Probably worth a look, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats passed on him.

If you changed the title to:

Kendrell Bell IR LB

it would be accurate.

Ouch

(low blow, but basically accurate...)

per nfl.com:
year-games played
01- 16
02- 12
03- 16
04- 3
05- 16
06- 16
07- 11

All in all not that bad - based n these stats I would not nickname him IR

He reminds me of Eugene Wilson; had a hell of a rookie year and then just sucked. I thought that guy was going to be a stud for year's to come in Pittsburgh. He has never been the same since he suffered that season ending injury his sophmore year.

so it's a knee injury.
he was playing outside in KC which is a completely different position than a 3-4 ILB.

Other guys that has suffered BAD knee injuries say they fully heal after 2 years.
So he prob lost some speed, but why could he not play inside?
Unless he's a liability against the pass and is not a high character guy

I really liked Bell when we had him, but I think the question about him now is more his Heart than his knee. The guy just doesn't seem to play as hard as some of the studs in the league do. Maybe a stint on a winning team like NE will re-energize him. Playing in KC can't be too motivating. I liked him, wish he would have done better with us, but we didn't want to wait and see if he worked out, we already had good depth at linebacker. He was supposed to be "a great" McFarlen even made a Toy of him in a Steelers uniform. The guy just didn't live up to the very high expetations that were put upon him.
