Either Ellis is D-O-N-E done... OR..all the media puking and blabbering and blithering and fawning, obsequious colon cleansing of Wrecks DeGenerateryan and self proclaimed "genius" Mike Tannenturd is completely erroneous, idiotic, inane big market prostration by morons who shouldn't even be writing up to go orders at Buford's Choke and Puke in Bayonne.
What I'm saying is...read that article...read it again...only an IDIOT let's an Ellis go with anything left in his tank. Only a self aggrandizing, warped, degenerate media whore does NOTHING to stop it.
dude, what are you on?

$4M, for 1 season? You gotta be kidding me, Bill. Whom the hell were you competing against?
Obviously at the time the original "analysis" article was written no one knew how much the Patriots were paying him. I also originally thought this would be an incentive laden deal for veteran depth.
At $4-5 million obviously Belichick is expecting more than just quality depth.
I also have to wonder whether BB sees a psychological impact with the loss in the Jets locker room.
While I guess the Jets had some concern about his practice ethic, I think Ellis, as the longest tenured and most consistent member of the Jets D, was pretty popular in a locker room that's seen a lot of changes this offseason.
When other players see a long-time contributor insulted and a 4.5 sack guy lowballed that can have a domino effect with the attitudes of other players toward the organization
So there might be a too-fer here in luring Ellis away.

I'm "on" clean fresh air...I'm "on" the side of society that disapproves of open degeneracy, deviance and obscenity being displayed by a fat, loudmouthed, drunken slob who should be wearing a number instead of a "head coach" nameplate. I'm "on" the sideline of fair play, not organized preplanned tripping of opponents in the field of play during games. Im "on" being honest and admitting my errors instead of getting caught redhanded and STILL blaming someone else, someone I'm pathologically jealous of, for MY transgressions.
I'm "on" the side of responsibility concerning parenting and taking care of my children with MY spouse...I'm not "on" the side of running the streets like a stray dog fathering dozens of children with multiple partners, some of whom I cannot even remember their names.
I'm "on" the side of law enforcement concerning drunk driving, having lost a close family member to this CRIME many years ago, a crime that is obviously alien in concept to most Jet players.

Nice analysis, and some great points.
I can also see Captain Stone's POV too though, as some of us certainly feel as though 4 million was a bit too much.
My guess is that there was certainly more than one reason why BB wanted Ellis here, and I'm also guessing that it was a very good reason.
Yes, I believe this is correct. 06 Season. The funny thing is I'm not even sure why anyone wanted him, as his one yr as DC didn't exactly lead to glory--or anything even close. I actually remember that 2005 team as being sort of mediocre, especially on defense--although I could be wrong.
Still can't believe the whole story/background story etc to this day. What a low scumbag douche.
