Over the years the Jets have made some personnel decisions to combat Brady and the Pats...kinda nice to see the Pats doing the same...with Haynesworth, Ellis, etc...beefing up the DL....cuz...lets be honest..Mangold and Co..really didnt have a problem running the rock...

I hear you, Titan, and welcome to the board.
However, I have to disagree with you a bit on the notion that these additions to the D-Line are with the Jets in mind. I really think they have more to do with the fact that BB is finally trying to do what we've all been clamoring for and that's improve the pressure on the QB. People tend to only think of edge rushing as a means to create pressure, but pressure up the middle is almost always overlooked. Anyone who really knows the game will tell you that pressure up the middle is the most effective way to make a passer, especially a pure pocket passer, uncomfortable.
I think that's the main reason Haynesworth was brought in. BB has added a few edge guys as well, but I think they were mainly brought in to complement the inside strength. It is looking very likely that the Pats will run more 4-man line than anything else this season.
