Who are potential cuts on those teams over the cap that could be a good link with the pats?

I have news for you, with the Pats over 5 million under, they have plenty of room without getting Mankins to a long term deal. Though, getting him onto that would be great.
Lets see what happens tomorrow and I'll tell you.

maybe oakland cuts seymour.

edit:
I think seymour and routt both restructured to bring oakland in under cap.

The teams in the red are: Raiders ($15,246,000); Steelers ($8,597,000); Lions ($7,793,000); Cowboys ($6,671,000); and Texans ($3,358,000).
Dare I say it? Swing a trade for Woodley to 'bring the lumber' for the Pats D? I don't think we even have a shot at Ware. But in the Steelers case, they are famous for being able to plug any linebacker into their system and seem to make him look good. Woodley next to Albert Haynesworth = Severe QB Trauma!! The medical bills for Sanchez alone will be astronomical!

The Steelers are reportedly now under the cap after restructuring 5 players. There's always the possibility that they will cut someone irrelevant (veteran) like Leftwich or Foote.

They have also been in heavy negotiations with Woodley all week long, and are at least reported to be making progress.

Trust me, these 2 stories are all I hear on the news here.

Yeah, not sure about OAK, but that was PIT's big ticket answer to getting under the cap this week. I'm guessing the contract restructuring was key to most of these teams getting under the cap, and that there won't be nearly as many players cut that many here think.

Strangely enough (sarcastic) the entire PIT team chose to vote 'no' to the ratification of the CBA today, based on their perceived unfair bias against their players---true story. Of course, as we know it passed anyway. What a bunch of crybabies.

This is the exact reason why some of these teams (PIT for ex.) did not file the paperwork of the restructured deals until tomorrow morning, even though they have been done/restructured for days now.

If he played for another team maybe but there's no way the Steelers trade him to their biggest conference (Ravens would be their biggest divisional) rival. I don't think they would trade him to another team for less than the Jarad Allen price of a first and a third and I can't see Bill doing that. Also imagine Woodley in the playoffs strip sacking Ben and the public outcry in western PA.

To flip the tables lets say the Patriots were really going to trade Mankins. Can you see them flipping him to the Steelers and potentially having to see him in the playoffs knocking our defense on their collective @sses while Mendenhall rushes for a buck-fifty?

There's only two conclusions for Patriots fans on rookies. They are either a bust or being fitted for their bust in Canton.

The Steelers just resigned Woodley. $61.5 million over six year. The cap number for 2011 is not yet know, but they probably saved a million or two by signing him to a longterm deal since the franchise tender he signed was worth $10.091 million.
