Default Bubba Franks Let Go in Green Bay

He's had knee problems ... I wonder if Belichick will bring him in for a look?

When healthy he is a pro bowl player. A QB like Brady and good health could bring him back. I bet we could get him for less than 2 million.

A 4th TE doesn't seem like a priority right now, especially one that hasn't been productive last couple years.

4th TE ... he's been injured and is a better receiver than Watson.
He would be 2nd TE here not 4th....nobody would pay a few million for a 4th TE.

Well, I meant 4th TE based on how many we already have on the roster. Are you suggesting we keep 4 or cut someone? Also, better receiver than Watson? Based on what? Many believe that Dave Thomas is the guy who will be in a lot of passing situations next year along with Watson. Brady is obviously a blocker. And I wouldn't want Bubba for the vet minimum to be honest. He's better days are behind him. Both Watson and Thomas IMO are better TEs than Franks is at this point of his career.

Brady was a non factor down the stretch ... injured perhaps but he has way too many miles on him. Belichick is better off with a OT/TE hybrid out of the draft than with Brady.

Slam me if you want but please explain what you mean by a TE/OT hybrid? Does that mean draft a TE that is very large?

I think this is fallout from when Ocallaghan lined up at TE for us in some goal line situations - people got hot for this TE/OT hybrid. In general, its a TE that everyone knows is going to be blocking so its like a 6th lineman.

No ... you get an OT that can block and is legit enough to declare as a receiver .. O'Callahan is one ... well so they say ... we can do better.

The hotness is because it saves cap $$$ ... that's the way I see it anyways.

When healthy Franks is nowhere near an all pro player.
