Albert Haynesworth-DL- Titans Feb. 20 - 4:24 pm et

The Titans officially placed the franchise tag on Albert Haynesworth.

He will earn $7.25 million if he plays under the tag, but don't expect him to sign for a while. The Titans and Haynesworth will work on a long-term deal, but both sides have some motivation to put it off. Haynesworth's effort has been inconsistent in his career, but another All Pro year could make him the richest defender in the league.

Nnamdi Asomugha-DB- Raiders Feb. 20 - 4:24 pm et

Raiders named CB Nnamdi Asomugha their franchise player, giving him the "exclusive" version of the tag.

He won't be able to negotiate with other teams and will get at least $9.8 million with the exclusive version. Asomugha didn't repeat his eight-pick performance from 2006 last year, but that was because opponents rarely tested the 26-year-old. Through the first 14 weeks, only 27 passes were thrown at the Raiders' left corner. Nine of the attempts were complete.

Al Davis ain't making a mistake again like he did with Moss.

Sorry folks you ain't getting him, at least not for some good compensation

This will increase the bidders in the Asante Samuel sweepstakes, as the list of good free agent CB's seems more than short...

On a free agency related note, I heard the Broncos are thinking about cutting or trading Javon Walker. I don't think they would get much in trade though. Walker's injury history limits his overall value.

that would be an awesome pickup if you got him for nothing. I wonder if they outright released him if he learned his lesson and would come to the Pats if they wanted him.

Moss Welker and Walker would be a nasty combo

moss is worthless when unmotivated, it's definitely not the same situation.

why was he unmotivated? because he was losing and surrounded by bad personnel moves. I give a postive mark for Al Davis on this move

Offer Al a 3rd round pick for the kid. Then say "Al, it's even more than we gave you for Moss! You've just got to stop fleecing us like this."

Given some of the reports about Al's mental state, that just might do the trick.

This is hillarious, seriously though offer him nick kazur to sweeten the pot, say something along the line of jamarcus is more mobile than Brady therefore one thing he does well and a big reason you drafted him was that he can run good for a qb.
So it won't be a problem for him to run for his life will it Al?

It doesn't say what's the best team, which has the most talented players, which teams has the biggest payroll, smallest payroll. It stands for the team that played the best in that season. Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

NO to Javon Walker. I swear comments like yours make me wonder if you even pay attention to the NFL. Walker has been an attitude problem since before he left Green Bay. He continued to be a problem in Denver where they gave him money to be "THE MAN" and he was anything but.
