Default Al Davis & Oilers GM confirm KC Chiefs Spy practices - team fined by NFL

Sorry for once again posting something from this article, but it's just mind boggling to me that the NFL and Media are singling out the Patriots when we have so many former coaches, team owners, and team executives going on the record about the espionage, spying and outright filming of other teams games and practices going back to 1955.

http://www.thesportgallery.com/sport...ug-nflspy.html

Quote:
When I spoke to Al Davis recently about the present status of espionage in the American Football League, he said Kansas City was by far the worst offender. "The Chiefs are the Bears of the AFL," Davis said. "Lamar Hunt has come out publicly and admitted it."

"You mean he's admitted he employs full-time spies?"

"Yes, he's admitted budgeting for espionage. Of course, if you talk to him, he'll be just like all the rest of 'em--their favorite line is: 'We just don't do those things'--but ask anybody in the league and they'll tell you about Kansas City. Call Don Klosterman in Houston and ask him about the Chiefs."

I spoke to Klosterman, a former Chiefs executive who is now general manager of the Oilers. "Oh yeah," Klosterman confirmed, "Kansas City spies, we caught 'em last year when we played them in their Municipal Stadium. See, the benches are on the same side of the field and they had this guy who was supposedly a roving photographer, but he was really a spy. . . He was snooping by our bench. Every time one of our coaches would say something important to one of our players, this guy would run over and relay the information to the Kansas City bench. I'm not makin' this up . . . we've got pictures of it."

"So what happened?"

"We registered a complaint with the league official. Kansas City got fined for it. That was their second offense with us. We caught 'em during preseason taking pictures of our practices with a Polaroid."

There's no reason for Specter not to call Al Davis in to elaborate further about what he told this reporter.

Doesn't Specter think that fans have a right to know that spying has been a regular practice in the NFL for 50 years?

Or is Specter only interested in focusing on the years since his Comcast has been paying him off and the Eagles lost the Super Bowl?

Yes...exactly. Also becasue the Pats are the big and sexy story that will get him attention and the best team in the NFL. No one cares about the Cheifs nowadays.

And while he's at it, why not ask him if the Raiders taped anything before the 1981 Super Bowl when the Raiders beat the Eagles........

Were they caught before the memo was sent out and stopped doing it afterward? This is the debate I have with my boyfriend everyday. I tell him all this stuff and he goes "well, the Pats didnt listen to the memo and thats why theyre in trouble and every other team did listen to the memo." I dont know how to argue this bc personally, I think that's besides the point. Yes, that IS ultimately why we got punished but I also think that BB didnt think what he was doing was besides the rule. I dont. He wouldnt have risked so much and it wouldnt have been out in clear view of everyone if it was "spying." Of course, thats not a good enough answer for my bf, so does anyone else know how to shut him up? Any other opinions?
