Default If Walsh has tapes, then why now?

Why not go back in sept when all this horse crap started... Look the Patriots broke the rule, but now all of the sudden this idiot pops out...

Im starting to wonder are the football gods starting to punish us, for the run we had...

Please let this end in 2 weeks , so we can focus on free agency...

Why now? Because the Boston Herald (Tomase) decided the time was right to drop a bomb and spoil everyone's fun. No other reason.

Walsh wants to cash in while the window of opportunity is still open. He wants to write a book but can't since the Patriots can sue to stop him. The NFL/Pats will only grant him immunity to talk to Goodell and Specter and he must return all materials (with a signed deposition that there aren't any more). Walsh wants blanket immunity.

If Walsh wanted to give his information and material to the NFL, he can do that under the NFL agreement with no risk to himself. However, that agreement wouldn't allow him to write a book or peddle his story to the news organizations.

The provision about being truthful is a smoke screen. Nobody gives blanket immunity without a provision for false testimony. The key provision is the one that restricts covered testimony to Goodell and Specter. That completely prevents Walsh from making money on what he knows.

Nobody willingly injects themself into a legal minefield without a very good reason. Nobility? Please. Revenge? He could have done it 4 years ago. Profit? Now you're talking...

I think its time for the Pats to start pushing back. We have quietly sat here for 6 months while the entire league was allowed to take pot shots at us. The league has done nothing to protect us or stop the smear campaigns. So 'F' em all and start telling what you know about other teams.

I mean how did we get to this point. Why does a fan of this team have to avoid football news because our team is being dragged thru the mud over and over again? I want my draft talk, my free agent talk without the BS.

Someone from the Pats and the NFL needs to step up and say enough is enough. WE'RE MAD AS HELL AND WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Astute...and doubtless accurate.

As long as the Patriots compete, people will fear them. As long as people fear them, they'll hate them. Can't take it? Be a Saints fan.

They are coming out now, that's for sure. I think it's more what he has to say than what's on the tapes. If the tapes are more of the same this is a non-story. If it's something more incriminating then there will be a lot of questions that need to be answered. Regardless, the NFL and the Patriots fates are intertwined now. I don't think BB stepping down or being suspended is enough anymore. Goodell's nuts are on the line too...

Couldn't agree more, I really love the Patriots to start getting legally nasty. I'm sick of them being whipping boys.

Also can we bump this to remind everyone to continue the ban on that fat slob (Tomase) and the Herald. Rats, all of them over there.
