From the article,
"One rule the players are trying to implement is being called “The Mangini Rule.” In the players’ opinion, the former New York Jets [team stats] and Cleveland Browns coach overworked players to the degree that it adversely impacted and shortened several careers."

Borges is like an ugly, angry little monster that crawls out of its cave periodically to spew hatred at the world, then returns to its filthy lair to stew and grumble. Thing is that these days, he's shouting into the void -- nobody really listens to him.

They don't call him "Wrong" for nothing. Borges sees a cloud beneath evey silver lining. Remember, we're still going to regret Kraft hiring Belichick one of these days...He wants the players to be angrier than we imagine. Coaches have little or no voice at the table. The players will get training concessions sufficient to soothe their damaged psyches, and then they will report back to their respective coaches and have to make his roster... The tradeoff for owners will be something like the proposed Thursday Night package sailing through in 2014 despite concerns about short week safety.

The contrast between your photo of HH and this quote is enjoyable.

I was keeping an eye on Breer's Twitter account and a couple of times he responded to wise-guy tweets from Borges, who appeared to think he was being clever. Instead, Borges came across as a wanna-be. Shocking.

Re: your daily dose of cold water from mr debbie downer
There are two themes which Ron Borges is drawn to like a moth to a light: Bill Belichick, and employees (players union) versus owners. He is extremely opinionated on both subjects, to such a point that it's as if a disclaimer should accompany any of his articles on either topic.
The unfortunate thing is that so many of his columns center around one of these viewpoints is that he has shut many people off from considering anything he has to say, because on the rare occasions where he can focus on football and not on the evil owners or the despicable head coach he is actually a very knowledgeable analyst and writer of the game. Sadly he is so negatively obsessed with Belichick and owners, that instead we just collectively tune him out.
Re: your daily dose of cold water from mr debbie downer
Those of you who decided to bag on Borges here should take note of what's going on with negotiations. If you go by current reports, Borges was correct.
