I have to say this much as prologue: the Super Bowl, for me, was just very bitter icing on an already bitter cake of a weekend. I'd prefer not to get into the details here, just suffice it to say that it's one weekend I could live without. [I'll say this much: I'm not the one most affected by what happened, and it doesn't involve police or courts.]
In any case, Sunday night, it took me over an hour to fall asleep--and I still woke up three or four times in the middle of the night after that. Thoughts of the Pats loss filled my mind--in part, I think, because my brain wanted to keep me away from that other stuff.
But, last night, for whatever reason, I fell asleep in about 10-15 minutes. Yeah, there was a thought or two about the SB, but no tossing or turning.
Anyone else feel the same way?

I was down in Glendale and drove back to Mandalay Bay Sunday night...took a nice jacuzzi, did my best Minnesota Fats refresher and hit the tables until the wee hours. Watched a little of the ESPN post game gagfest, especially the nitwitticisms of Emmitt "Three Brain Cells" Smith, and retired until the afternoon flight out.
Great time, great venue, sucky game...2 out of three ain't half bad..but it could have been better.
There's a cool insomniac thread on Pats Planet. We should have one here. Maybe when "funner" things start up...the draft? I was up only once during the night, OK for me, came down and read this board, Pats Planet and a couple Red Sox boards. Went back to sleep fine after that.
I was in a funk pretty much all of Monday, but life goes on.
If they went 10-6, 12-4, whatever, I could have handled it a little more gracefully. 18-1? I'll have a tough time getting past that...
The likelihood of us ever seeing another Pats season like the one we just witnessed borders on the impossible.

Any Given Sunday...
If the Pats win, for example, two more super bowls in this run, the 18 - 1 will become just a statistical oddity (well, almost).
No question FanFrom. A SB win, even off a 10-6 season, will mend a lot of wounds..
But we have spring training right around the corner, and a Celtics run towards the Championship, so we're OK...
Now if the B's could just climb past the Habs and Sens I'd really be a jolly fellow.
Sunday night sucked, last night was better but not great.

Yes, I've seen quite a few posts from people saying they hate the Red Sox. That's too bad. When it looked like the Pats would lose to Indy, then Baltimore, and even on Sunday, I thought of the Red Sox and the joy they've brought recently, and, if they lose I've still had a lot to be thankful for. Of course, the other Pats SB wins are still there. I'm watching the NBA again for the first time in years, thanks to the Celtics. But, I guess if someone isn't into the other pro sports, they can't force themselves.
