Throughout the year, as the Pats continued to blowout decent teams, the fans more and more started to feel invincible. Everyone thought all the Pats had to do is show up. The entire country saw this, and have identified Pats fans as arrogant, ****y and obnoxious. A lot of the time it was justified; a lot of the time it wasn't. Well, not looking at things objectively finally caught up. Like this thread from last week: Im Predicting the Blowout
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a die-hard Pats fan and I thought they were going to win. Now that they lost, I'm taking it as hard as anyone.
In the above thread, all I was asking for is a little objectivity. People predicting blowouts basically for no reason? Come on. Threads called "What's it going to be like when Goodell hands Belichick the trophy?" We're better than that and we're smarter than that. Don't be the reason the rest of the country laughs at us and rubs the loss in our faces.
I hope this is a lesson to Pats fans everywhere to never, EVER look ahead again.

I didn't feel invinsible. I felt more vulnerable as we kept winning. I also said if we went 16-0 in the regular season we wouldn't win the SB.

The arrogance of these fans is the very thing that will prevent them from changing. Look for more in-fighting and insults to be flung around when someone disagrees with their particular perspective. It's hard to look around to see what's happening when your head is stuck up your own backside.

Every successful team has to deal with ****ty fans.
The sad part is that the ****ty fans probably don't even realize they're ****ty, because they're so stupid.
It's our cross to bear, but it's better than rooting for the Chiefs, right?
It was sad to see our team get outplayed last night, but the trophy needs to go to the team that wants it more, not the team with the best record, and that's what happens.
We were not the ones who planned a parade and wrote a book. I hope the team realizes that they should NEVER LOOK AHEAD.
Just a point of information, but all cities that have a team in the SB plan the parade route ahead of time. They have to. Its a logistical nightmare otherwise.
As for the book, that was the Boston Globe, not the Patriots. What they shouldn't have done is allowed Amazon to post pre-orders on it.
What the fans, media or anyone not directly associated with the team says means nothing. It's what the players think. And I can only hope they blocked all of those outside influences from affecting their mindset. They certainly say the write things, but it's hard to imagine they can shelter themselves completely for so long.
