I don't know; once they shave those playoff beards they'll go back to being anonymous to most New Englanders.
Except maybe for Charra ... But then people will probably think he's a Celtic. Seriously, some of those guys can't grow a decent-looking beard to save their life.

Wow, it's amazing to me how many smart fans on this board get confused by the point of PFT's post. It's tonge-in-cheek, it's CLEARLY tongue-in-cheek. They even say at the end that the biggest thing it says is that it's a good time to be a fan of New England sports. Come on, folks.
The Red Sox are still the black sheep in my book. With how much money is dumped into that team they should have at least 5 championships.
Huh? By that logic, your point renders itself moot because the Yankees should be winning every world series. The Sox don't have the largest payroll in the majors by a long shot.
As for the article and subsequent post: it's all a joke, lighten up people. We're enjoying an unfathomable run of success as Boston fans. Enjoy it while it's here, because we'll be looking back at this in 30 years and wondering wtf happened to make us so lucky.
Or you could say the Pats have 3 titles in the last ten years, calling them black sheep is silly (and I know that Florio wasn't serious) when the other teams most current titles are decades away from their last, in the Bruins case 38 years, in the Celtics 24.
As for the Red Sox, well who the hell cares.
The Patriots are the so-called 'black sheep' under the rubrick being used. It's pretty basic stuff, and it's an appropriate way to look at things. It's a great thing for a 4 sport city that a team is the black sheep because it's 7 years out of a title year.
Whether a relative handful of posters on a couple of message boards like it or not, that's just the way it is. The rest of us will enjoy our good fortune.

. Entitled or not, since 2004, the Patriots have brought this town more heartbreak than all the other teams combined. 2006 AFCCG, 2007, 2010 against the Jets. Those are all some of the worst losses any team can ever experience.
2007 is enough heartbreak for a lifetime

The difference is that Brady calmly calls audibles while Manning flaps like a chicken, barks 11 code words, and makes sure every camera in the stadium has documented his once-in-a-generation (and patented, I believe) ability to see a defensive formation and change the play. Both have the same effect, but Manning transcends measurable human intellect while Brady merely chooses a different play.

Well woop-de-do for you. Thanks for clarifying what the appropriate way to look at things are because I wasn't sure. Now I know thanks to you.
