I guess if you take a few mulligans on your field goals attempts, you've got a point. Around these parts, we recognize that even kickers can make the difference in playoff games and even Super Bowls....so we like them to be focused on the job at hand.....

There's no way I'm getting overconfident. The Giants are right where we were when we were the underdogs against the Rams.

Merely attending a Knicks game shows poor judgment.

And your kicker jinxed himself.

Going on Letterman for them is like going on WBZ for Tom. It is filmed in NYC. If it was filmed in LA different story.

What is this "World Champs" stuff?

The NFL is national, not international. Other than a few Canadians, barely anyone else plays the sport.

I'm not sure if they are overconfident or not, but they sure do seem to be taking advantage of their 15 minutes.

I'm not sure how many quotes there have been from a Giant player that starts, "We're not . . . " You can fill in the blank.

Who are they trying to convince?

The other thing that's interesting is that at the end of the day the subject of what they are usually talking about is the Patriots. Sure, sometimes it will on the surface be about the Giants, but really it's comparing themselves to the Patriots, or, more bluntly, to try to send the message that "the Pats just ain't all that you or the media think they are."

Just seems like a lot of talking and a lot of talking about us.

Not sure it matters, though, in terms of how the game is going to play out. Just kind of interesting to note the difference from the Pats.

Given the choice between overconfident and running scared, I'll take overconfident any time. (Besides, why shouldn't they be confident? Out of 32 teams in the NFL, the Giants are the 2nd most likely to win it all!)

The real key IMO is whether they have the kind of confidence that can get pricked like a balloon by a cold shot of reality, or the kind of confidence that buoys them if they fall behind by a couple of scores. If it's the latter, good for them and who cares how many <*yawn*> Knickerbocker games they sit through.
