Default Plaxico Burress implies Brady is far better than Eli

Interesting quote from an article where Burress favorably compares the Giants WRs to the Pats. His reason why the Giants receivers don't have to take a back seat to Moss, Welker, Stallwroth and Gaffney?

" But there's an easy explanation, Burress says, for the perception the Patriots' receivers are a cut above the rest.

"They've got Tom Brady," Burress said. "

It's true, but probably not the thing you want to be saying in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.

Could you imagine Troy Brown heading into SB 36 against the Rams trying to defend his receiving corp as second best in the game by stating that Bruce, Holt and Co. appear to be better because they have league MVP Kurt Warner as QB?

Or Beion Branch saying that Branch/Givens would be just as good as Harrison/Wayne if the Pats only had Peyton Manning?

Plex is a big time player and the Steeelers are kicking themselves for not keeping him. However Toomer is a drop machine and they have no one like Welker. We have not even gotten into Gaffney or the other 2 that get no playing time. If the Pats even went a true 5 wide there is no way the Giants could cover everybody

Moss
Stallworth
Welker
Gaffney
Washington/Jackson

The Giants 3rd best reciever stats wise is on the IR (Shockey) there 4th best has 225 yards. These guys offensive wise remind me alot of us 2 or 3 years ago. The problem for them is their defense is not as good as any of our previous SB teams. Not even close as a matter of fact with the exception of their pass rush the Pats are better in every category. As for the comparison between us and the Rams, 2 things, 1)we came up from a hardnosed team and grew into a high flying high scoring machine we still know how to crank the screws when necessary, 2)The Rams had Kurt Warner we have Tom Brady...Big Difference, huge.

Disagree. Didn't the Steelers win the SB without him? At that time, I thought Plex should be kicking himself for wanting out of the Steelers.

true but they turned out to be care takers and will not compete long term without a big play threat. Hines is a great possesion wr but thats it. Maybe they have something in their young 2nd year wr but time will tell. I just dont think you give up 6'5" 225lbs 4.4 40yd without a fight.

Really, how do you feel about both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick saying that Ed Reed is better than anybody on the Patriots secondary in the days leading up to the Ravens game? Or Bill Belichick implying Cromatie is far better corner then anybody on the Patriots squad in the days leading up the the AFCCG?

Brady is a better QB than Eli. If he had said otherwise there would be a thread about how the Giants are trash talking the Patriots.
