Default So Sick of hearing charger last 8 games

All I hear is the Chargers last 8 games they are the best yada yada

Lets take a look at who they played

Baltimore Ravens = terrible
Kansas City Chiefs = terrible
Tennessee Titans = Titans should of won
Detroit Lions = terrible 2nd half of season
Denver Broncos = awful
Oakland = beyond awful

Playoffs
Tennessee Titans
17-6 W Good win

Indianapolis Colts 28-24 W
Good win but 2 key turnovers and Indy wins

When they say the last 8 games the Chargers outplayed NE look at the teams
they beat all but 2 were under 500...So IMO it's not that impressive..

The chargers have had a great second half of the season. They are not playing the way they were week 2.

They beat the Colts. An outstanding football team. They will give the Patriots a tough game. One does not get to the AFCCG by being mediocre.

They will be the toughest team we have played so far.

The problem with looking at the Chargers last 8 games is that you should probably also look at the Patriots' last 17. Sure, people like to say "you barely beat teams like Baltimore and Philly (in my mind, the most talented team not to make the playoffs)" but forget that there were also very quality wins against opponents like Pitt and Jax in there as well.

My point is, if anyone's making the point that San Diego is hot coming into this game and that gives them any advantage, they're barking up the wrong tree.

So sick or so worried?

The Chargers lead the league in creating turnovers. I expect them to uphold this distinction on Sunday.

How can you post that statistic without also noting that no team turned it over LESS this year than the Patriots. The Pats only had 15 giveaways this year, and the only team within five was the Colts (19).

I'll admit that the Chargers are a good team at forcing turnover (hell, they were my fantasy defense all year), but you're not facing Brodie Croyle this weekend friend. If you get turnovers, you're going to have to earn them.

Nobody is saying the Patriots aren't a good team. The two best teams in the NFL will be playing in the AFCCG.

8 game winning streaks are less impressive when the opponent has won 17 in a row. Excuse me if I'm not impressed. Heck, the Colts were on a longer streak when NE played them earlier this year.

I'm certainly not taking that bet with the way NE is protecting the ball. And I agree, I keep hearing about SD creating turnovers but no one mentions how NE avoids them.

Let's take a look at who the Chargers intercepted this year:

Grossman – 1
Brady – 1
Huard – 4
Cutler – 3
Culpepper – 2
Rosenfels – 2
Schaub – 2
Manning – 6
Thigpen – 1
Young – 2
Kitna – 5
Russell – 1

Playoffs –
Young – 1
Manning - 2

So aside from picking off Brady once (he torched you otherwise), and obviously being inside Manning's head, you picked off a who's who of the league's most pathetic list of QBs. Granted, this speaks more to the terrible level of QB play overall, but I still think there's a salient point.

The Chargers faced three elite QBs this year, Brady, Manning, and Favre - and two of the three lit them up.

As I said before, it's only telling to look at how many turnovers the Chargers created if you also compare it against how many the Patriots committed, which as I pointed out above, is the fewest in the league by a significant margin.
