Former Charger Shawn Lee dies at age 44 - CBSSports.com

Here's the really disturbing part:

He is also the sixth member of that 1994 Chargers team to die at an early age.

It seems the cause of death is always listed as unknown too.

Unlike the 70's Steeler dynasty where everyone who died was put down with a broken leg.

Yeah, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean the Charger team. I meant lately we've seen former NFL players die at a young age and the story always goes cause of death is unknown. At first at least.

Too many former athletes die at a young age. It is truly sad.

It's strange how somebody from the Bolts died as a result of being struck by lightning.

I believe I read that the average life span for an NFL player is 57 or 58 years. Which sounds worse than boxing.
