Default NFL to go to 17 game regular season?

Charlie Kasserly just said on CBS pre game that the NFL is looking to add a 17th game to the regular season. I can see it already, "Yes, the Pats went undefeated but they did it in just a 16 game season."

Totally unneeded. The only point of it is to make one more game's worth of revenues. And then the players would start *****ing they signed a contract for 16 game seasons.

It would create a big mess of teams not having the same number of home and away games. Unless they are planning something crazy like having everyone play one international game every year or something.

Just more proof that the Patriots are the most important franchise in the game today.

I concur. Although if there were to be a 17th game, I'd rather it be a neutral overseas game than have an uneven home/away split.
Also, if they want even-ness, they'd have to go to 18; which I think is too much

Who are they going to play against for the 17th game? The schedule is already on a good system.

In a season you play against...

Your division foes 6 times
4 teams from a division within your conference
4 teams from a division outside your conference
2 teams who finished in the same place you did from the previous season that are in the two divisions within your conference whom your not scheduled to play against

i like today's NFL with 16 regular games-season

i hope they will play 1 NFL regular season game-year outside US (better in Europe, of course); as it was this year in London

17th game will never happen, teams with the 9th home game will have an unfair advantage. season is plenty long enough as it is.

I wish Charlie Casserly would slip on a banana peeling into the Grand Canyon. That guy still has issues from not being properly potty trained as a child.
