That is the comp for signing another team's franchise player. But if it's a trade, other terms can be negotiated. For example, the Chiefs franchised Jared Allen, but traded him to Minnesota for a 1st and 2 3rds. Another example is when the Pats traded Cassel with Vrabel for a 2nd. |
