I am not going to bean-count in order to determine how good any of these guys are. Stats are beans. You can only count beans and compare beans for so long and then you end up still in an undetermined state for settling arguments about great players. Randy is a great receiver, and at that Moss-Rice level it does not matter who caught one more ball or TD than the other.

Stats are OK, don't get me wrong. I think they often are abused, though, and become weapons for the mentally-impaired. Suddenly everything is about the beans, the beans, the beans, as if nothing else counts.

except the fact that he has already broken down a few times, and this is only going to get worse as he ages.

he was hurt in both 04 and 06, and missed all of training camp this year.

he has very little chance to catch Rice, b/c it's doubtful he'll remain healthy and just as productive for another 6 or 7 years

Remember that Rice actually has 207 TDs, which is ridiculous if you think about it.

Catching him for receiving TDs would be amazing, but I view 207 as the number to beat where Rice is concerned. Those other 10 TDs weren't all cheapies either. He carried the ball several times, or was pitched or lateralled to.

Randy does have Rice beat, however, on passing TDs. Two to one.

I think every Pats fan would like to see Moss break all of Rice's records, with the Pats and Brady.

But until that is at least within sight, the fact remains that ole' a-hole Mr. Rice is the benchmark by which all others are compared.

So we are all going to have to wait a few years before jumping to conclusions.

Maybe at some point down the road when Moss is clearly closing in on Rice's CAREER production we can even sensibly float the discussion about who is the real GOAT.

LOL. Looks like you fell for BB's "exaggerate the hammy injury to preserve the secret weapon" strategy.

Let's not forget, Rice played till he was 42-43 and had very productive years up til age 40. It's not out of the question for Moss, that is for sure. He likely won't, but the possibility is alive.

Yeah because everybody didn't know that Moss could be a weapon in this Brady-led offense.

I am not even sure Brady will be here in 5 years from now

You're delusional about Moss

WTF? You think Brady will suck when he is 35? What are you smoking? Brady will be here until he retires and so will Moss.

Update: Well that didn't work out as I had planned. Next year baby, next year 19-0 we go. Next year.
