That's sort of why I think Coughlin played his guys to the very end.
Almost even think the NFL kind of pressured him, through indirect avenues maybe, to do so. There's absolutely no way they would have approved over him pulling a Dungy and running all those viewers into another station. It would have defaced history and lost millions of potential "newer fans" interest.
