How bout a Pats Offense vs. Colts Defense thread or vice versa?

All that matters now is that the Colts D will allow more points to our offense than we will to their offense. NE is just a better team.

BTW the last time the Pats faced the #1 D in the playoffs, they racked up 41 points, after scoring only 20 in the regular season, both away. Now we may see the #1 D at home, after besting them with 24 points away.

I can't wait for us to drop 40+ on those pretenders

The Colt pass rush wore out in the second half bigtime in the first game this year. Pats D gets better as the game goes on. I'll give the nod to the Pats.

If Sanders needs to sneak up that will make them vulnerable to Moss deep.

Losing Freeney is huge, especially in Foxboro, when Brady has time, as the whole world knows, it's lights out.
This is a good point. The Colts are in the bottom third of the league in sacks. I know that's not the only stat that matters when it comes to rushing the passer, but it's telling in its own way. Freeney is overrated, but I'm not complaining that he won't be playing.

Yep the Colts D definitely looked tired at the end of the game. And those guys are relatively young. They must be pansies

In the 2006 AFC Championship (shudder, very dark place..) it was the Pats who wore out. The offense was just brutal in the 2nd half and did not help the defense. Obviously a different story this year, IMO the 2007 Patriots were built under the premise that there are no truly dominant defenses, to win in the NFL you must be able to score.

As Asante Samuel said '60 minutes, hey this game is about 60 minutes baby!'... in the end the NE front seven should be able to wear out the Indy O Line, just the Pats offense should be able to grind the Colts into the ground.

As we saw 11/4, when the Colts D can't generate a pass rush, they are toast. Their secondary sucks in coverage ("you f_ckin suck!") Their D-line has been decimated with injuries. It's going to be a field day for our offense.

The Pats offense will be a lot better this time around. They'll be at home instead of that god-forsaken dome. Brady and his receivers have had another 8 weeks to get their signals straight. Freeney is out. We've seen that Indy's D will tire.

If we lead at halftime, we should win, because we'll score in 90% of our 2nd half possessions.

As far as our D, while we've lost Colvin, we have a healthy Seymour back in action. We'll focus on stopping Addai, a-la Marshall Faulk, and will succeed this time.

When Freeny was there he was the biggest D lineman the Clots had. All 6-1 and 260 # or so of him. Robert Mathis checks in at 230#, the Freeeney's replacemnt is a few pounds heavier than that maybe 235. The "massive" D tackles tackles weigh at least 250#.

Say is this a 1940s era team?

You can do that when all they have to do is pass rush and occasionally run into a RB on the way ot the QB. When the other team is behind and has abandoned the run in an attempt to catch up. Then you can crow about the great yardage stats your run defense does not yeild. Bogus. All Bogus!

It works when Manning throws TDs to Harrison, Wayne and Clark and Shockley, while being protected by the great Tarik Glenn. Say where are Marv, Tarik, and Shock, I haven't seen them in a while...

No fake crowd noise, no real crowd noise, no communications issues.... Much easier.

Addai has also slumped big time since the Colts played the Pats. Of course, Harrison is back.

Both offenses can move the ball on ANY defense. Key will be holding the other team to FGAs rather than TDs.
