Default Giants players not happy with their fans

The Giants aren't thrilled that their fans are bailing on them this week, selling out to Patriots fans desperate to witness history.

But they aren't surprised.

"That's probably one of the reasons why we are better on the road than we are at home," said running back Brandon Jacobs. "If it is that way and they got more fans, then so be it. It could work out to our advantage."

Most Giants chose to steer clear of the ticket talk on Wednesday. But none were excited about the prospect of their own stadium being filled with fans of the other team. Defensive end Justin Tuck even pleaded with fans, saying, "Don't sell your tickets."

"I don't agree with it," Tuck said. "This is Giants Stadium and I don't want to see a whole lot of Patriots fans at Giants Stadium."

How could that possibly be? Sounds like a desperate attempt at rationalization. I hope we spank the Giants and embarrass them not only on the scoreboard but in the stands. I'll be there yelling at Eli on third and long. I hope there's enough of us to make some significant noise.

hmmm go to the game and watch Eli throw 3 INT's and the Giants get blown out or make $2000.

Tough call for Giants fans.

Good for you, Tune! By the way, what a bunch of losers! The article says Giants stadium was only 1/2 full on Dec. 19th when the Giants were going for a playoff spot! Can we please stop criticizing the Gillette crowd now? We may not be the loudest, but at least we are there to support our team! I went to the Miami game and despite predictions that a lot of people were dumping their tickets, the stadium was 90% full at the start of the game, even the red seats.

I hope Pats fans outnumber them 2-1!! Go Pats!!

Look at the upside - less booing when Eli fumbles or gets picked...

I think Giant fans realize they are saddled with one of those teams that win just enough games not to force badly needed changes. Treading water in a sea of mediocrity in the NFC...Jacobs isn't too bright, pointing out to them how their home record is the fans fault...while ownership dawdles because they don't want to replace Coughlin until they can attract a Cowher or some other name to replace him.

If the Giants were a very good team they'd be playing second stringers on Saturday to generate an all important bye scenario for their core players heading into the playoffs. But they are not a good team, and despite their record they aren't playing particularly well, so they will play their starters on Saturday, for at least a half, to try to build some sort of positive momentum, and appease the media and league, and hope they don't loose any more players or become more psychologically damaged in the process.

If I were a fan of that team, I'd probably cut my losses on the season and sell my ticket to witness that too.

Pretty friggin hypocritical of the Giants players. They leave via free agency for more money in order to "feed their families" but their season tickets holders aren't allowed to make money off their seats when the opportunity arises?

That being said it still ticks me off since we cannot sell our tickets for a profit or even sell them at all on the ticket exchange.

Are there really 50,000 people on the waiting list? I truly doubt it. Or they all have the false notion that they will be getting 1st level seats someday.

Why can't you sell them on the ticketexchange?

Perhaps by making it feel like a road game for them, where they've been 7-1? Maybe they should opt to wear those semi-pro road uniforms and have the Pats dress in blue. Bring along the revolutionary guard and play the 1812 Overture after every Patriot touchdown (or at least the first five). Bring along Pat Patriot. Invite the Patriots to videotape their signals from behind the bench. Wouldn't they love it if 10,000 Patriot fans started yelling "Yankees suck!"?
