Default Tedy ain't finished yet!

Rumors of Bruschi's demise are premature. Despite the opinion of many on this board that Tedy's washed up, he's still a valued contributor. By the coaches count, #54 leads the team in tackles with 98. Did you see his huge deflection on fourth down on the goal line against Miami?

The D is much improved in the red zone, & I don't think he coaches would keep Tedy in there if he is the liability many here think he is. Plus you have to factor in his intangibles-he's still an inspirational leader who refuses to lose in the hat and T-shirt games. Maybe he can't cover and fill like he once could, but I'm glad he's on our side.

Hell, she-coaches wouldn't even keep him in there if he were a liability. You're right, he's not, was just tickled by the typo.

He WAS a liability in the first 10 games. Everything the realists were saying about his play , IMHO, was true then.

His play has improved dramatically down the stretch. This is one of the most optimistic signs for the playoffs.

His play declined this year, schmessy. But who do we have who we could sub in? I know! Alexander! um... Lua? Where's Freddie Roach... I know I left Roach around here somewhere, oh wait that was A roach...

Anyway, if Tedy has 4 "super" good games in him this year, I want them betwen now and February, thanks.

If the Patriots finish 19-0 the more realistic scenario is that Tedy decides to retire at the pinacle of a long storybook career.

It wouldn't surprise any of us to see others in the LB corps and on the team do exactly the same thing. No one including Tedy is kidding themselves that he and others are in the prime of their career - and we all acknowledge that as a member of an LB rotation as well as his intangible leadership qualities there certainly a place for him on the team next year.

But like last season Tedy will contemplate retirement and if the team finishes 19-0 I'd have to think he'd lean heavilly towards walking off the field having helped his team reach the true zenith of his sport, having achieved something no team in the history of the NFL ever has before.

That's how I'm looking at it rather than worrying about Tedy making the cut next pre-season.

There is no doubt that over time, his playing time will lessen...but he will still be a part of teh Pats D.

I agree, he has played alot better and is peaking much like Rodney. Tedy has been very good in coverage.

People forget how much guys like Tedy and Rodney LOVE TO PLAY!!

I don't think 19-0 will prompt nearly as many retirements as some of you do.

Michael Jordan went out at the top on purpose, and made a fool of himself because of his regret. It seems that most athletes since, at least in US team sports, have learned from his lesson.
