Default NFL Play of the Year

sorry to spam but i really think this deserves its own thread

can we acknowledge how awesome this was? yeah desean jackson's return was amazing and there's been some highlight reel plays, but this just makes me happy to watch. pretty much every NFL fan i've talked to (dont know any packers fans) say they were cheering for him to get into the endzone. i dont think ive ever seen anyone look as happy as he did.

it looks like he's running a 5.0 40! i cant stop watching this, i think ive seen it like 20 times and it doesnt get old

YouTube - Dan Connolly 300 Pound Patriots Lineman Springs A 71 Yard Kick Off Return 4.6 40 yard dash!

There's something about the way he holds the ball that just cracks me up.

I liked Meriweather's tackle of McCourty

Good initial cut, then he made three guys miss -- one with a stiff-arm, then two more with the final cut.

The officials let a couple of gentle blocks in the back go, but as chaotic as that play was, they were right to do so. It seems that in general you don't often get penalized for having your hands in the wrong place, as long as they don't do too much while they're there.

I bet Connolly carried the ball a bunch as a kid, being the best athlete and so on, just as I'm pretty sure Wilfork did.

Awesome. Thanks for the video. Sammy Morris with illegal block in the back in front of the ref? So we did get a break.

No, that wasn't a break. The referee understood that Sammy was trying to save the 160 pound kicker from getting flattened by a 330 pound lineman barreling toward him with speed. I don't know what that kicker was thinking.
