he Green Bay Packers have listed quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who suffered his second concussion of the season last week, as doubtful for Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers, who was on hand for three-quarters of Friday's practice, is making progress medically. Although McCarthy left the door open for Rodgers' return, the coach said he's prepared to go with Matt Flynn as the starter against the Patriots. Earlier Friday, McCarthy tipped off Flynn that he would start.
Re: McCarthy strongly hints that Flynn will start over Rodgers
That's a shame, reallyy wanna face every team at their best. Who knows, maybe Flynn plays a decent game. Green Bay has a good team even without Rodgers. Might be a good game. Though I think the chance of a blowout is higher without Rodgers.
Re: McCarthy strongly hints that Flynn will start over Rodgers
I am now fearful about the Packers game. When Belichick's team has been upset it's usually by a young QB, who no one knows much about, and little film to study his tendencies.
When Belichick doesn't have enough film on a guy he can't use his masterful Coaching and his great game planning to give the Pats their usual out-sized advantage. With all the Pats injuries on the defensive line, the Pack might be able to run enough, to allow Flynn to pass a lot less and conservatively.
How many games have the Pats lost to young QBs? You only have to look at their last loss, when the Browns and Colt McCoy did them in.
Flynn is not a raw rookie like McCoy. He is more like Matt Cassel, four years into his career, and his coaches saying he is a QB on the make.

You're more afraid of a team starting their backup than a QB who ranks top 10 in the league? Alright then. He led the Pack to 3 points against the Lions.
Edit: And I'm not trying to say it will be an easy game or cakewalk with Flynn in. But for godsakes, Rodgers to Flynn is a gigantic dropoff.

Matt Flynn is not Colt McCoy. Flynn sucked at LSU and he has sucked royally as a starter in the NFL. If our defense struggles against him, somethings wrong.
