I feel great about the Pats chances in the playoffs. Hey, they have home field advantage and have an extra week to rest up and prepare.

The teams they are likely to meet, they've already played this year - allowing BB to prepare a better game strategy.

There is nothing wrong with feeling nervous. But you have no reason not to be positive.

Don't feel so uneasy. Five years from now when you think about the

Pats 19-0 season, you won't remember that some of the wins were

close games that were far from perfect.

As Brady said, "We've already won 21 in a row before. . . ."

That is the worst insult I have ever been given on this message board.

And believe me, I have been insulted many times.

So why do I feel so uneasy about the rest of the year. Part of me want the team to run the table and part of me would like to see the team lose (OMG I said it) one of the two remaining games.

I guess I feel that the law of averages are working againts us and by losing one of two remaining regular season games they have a better chance to go three games to glory in the playoffs.

Does anyone else feel this way or am I just being paranoid?
No, I used to feel this way, but when you think about it, if there was a team that could handle this type of pressure, it would be the Pats and their "one game at a time" philosophy. Deep down, they all know how special this season can be and know how to stay focused. Besides, when the playoffs come, they can get into the mind-set that the regular season is behind them and the next game they play can be their last, so they will be game ready. Another way to look at it is how they won 21 straight a few years ago, so they know it's doable.

Cool Re: Why do I feel uneasy?

You feel uneasy Nut because you (like most reasonable people) subscribe to the law or averages and you figure we've got to lose one of these weeks. I have felt that way too - I kept thinking to myself, way back when we were 5-0 and everyone was talking "undefeated season," "Yeah? Talk to me when we get to 14-0, then I'll think about an undefeated season." never thinking we'd make it this far!

At this point, I feel the Pats should keep the pedal to the metal and see how it all turns out. I have actually felt better about these close wins. They don't allow the team to get complacent for the playoffs like blow-outs week after week might.

All us conservative fans should just buckle our chin straps and go along for what I hope is a very enjoyable ride!

Here is what I think leads to uneasiness about this team: The defense is good but not dominant and when bad weather takes the edge off our offense, ANY game can turn into a nail-biter.

The undefeated record helps more than hurts. Our players are pretty loose. All of this talk doesn't really seem to be putting any pressure on them, and when they go out there, it doesn't really matter. They play the game. Now for an opponent, you have to make the trek to Foxboro. You have to play an undefeated team. There's a little intimidation. Even if they are 15-1, you can point to that 1 loss and use "_______ beat them. We can to." This year? Nothing. I like that. Keep it going.

Jags, Colts, even Steelers could be tough in the playoffs.

Green Bay could be tough in the Super Bowl.

So it's still up in the air. Nothing is assured.

The last sentence makes no sense. Losing one of the last two doesn't "satisfy the law of averages", thus freeing the team to win out. Each game is independent except for how it mentally affects later games, maybe.

If you flip a coin 14 times and it's heads every time....and you want to make sure that the LAST 3 flips (up to 19) are all HEADS...is it better to have tails come up in the 15th or 16th flip to kind of even things out? No. It's irrelevent.
