After the Pats game, I write a couple of Christmas cards, help my wife with the groceries, take out the garbage, check in on the game on TV and it's already over. The haves and the have nots in the NFL have never been so far apart.

I have to disagree....the Raiders are pulling it together and have just completed a 20 play drive down the field after stopping the Colts at the 4 inch line on fourth down.
Score: 10 - 7 Colts but the Raiders are actually stuffing it down the Colts throats.

Boy, was I wrong. I didn't see that the Colts had a TD overturned, which would have made it 17 - 0 in the first period. Raiders looking scrappy. Go Raiders.

They are actually playing with a little fire in their bellies. I doubt they will win but it's nice to see someone giving the Colts a hard time.

This would be one of those where you'd be happy to be completely wrong... but a good example nonetheless of how one play winds up making such a huge difference in a game.
Down 17 nothing teams play a different brand of ball that can see them go down by even more points.
10-7 makes for a VERY different game, even in the 1st quarter

So, the Canadian comes to the defense of the hockey fan. Just having some fun guys, but seriously, referring to quarters as periods grates the ear of the football fan.
