Default 2010 rookie class impact - team by team

2010 NFL NFC team-by-team rookie evaluations - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

2010 NFL AFC team-by-team rookie evaluations - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN
Tight end Aaron Hernandez scored a touchdown as part of his three-catch, 51-yard effort. Two more rookies — cornerback Devin McCourty and linebacker Brandon Spikes — intercepted Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham had five tackles and a quarterback hurry. Zoltan Mesko had impressive gross (46.7) and net (38.0) punting averages. Plus, tight end Rob Gronkowski had one reception for 12 yards, adding to a season in which he already has set the franchise rookie tight end record with six touchdown catches.

Don't need this article to tell us that this could be the best rookie class in the BB era. But was the 2003 class as good, or better?

i thought people were saying that none of the safeties in this past draft were any good...but it seems like 6 or 7 already have starting roles

shows last years class overall was a pretty nice group of talented payers with alot of picks living upto their billing as good players.

Patriots would have to be up there with the best drafts, but you would include in that talk Raiders, Chiefs, Tampa and even St Louis and Detroit because of the impacts their picks have had

I thought everyone was saying the safeties were excellent. Berry, Taylor Mays, Thomas. 2 went very high and one was expected to before having a poor season.

I wonder if Urban Meyer will be on the payroll as a consultant/scout. He has been great to the Patriots. I did not realize how young he is. 46.

Here is the 2003 draft class that many thought was one of the best.

1 Ty Warren, DL, Texas A&M
2 Eugene Wilson, FS, Illinois
2 Bethel Johnson, WR, Texas A&M
4 Dan Klecko, DL, Temple
4 Asante Samuel, CB, Central Florida
5 Dan Koppen, C, Boston College
6 Kliff Kingsbury, QB, Texas Tech
7 Spencer Nead, TE, Brigham Young
7 Tully Banta-Cain, OLB, California
7 Ethan Kelley, DL, Baylor

The 2010 class could be better.

It's hard to say without seeing how this class develops. I mean in 2003, Eugene Wilson played a significant role for us and was very solid, but he never really got much better and his growth stagnated. So while a lot of these kids have been amazing so far, there's no guarantee they'll continue to improve. I really hope they do though, as they have a ton of potential.

We'll see in a few years, but I have really high hopes for the 2010 draft class.

Some will improve and some won't, that's the nature of the beast. But all I can say is that on Sat evening, when the draft was over, I just said "wow' and kept my fingers crossed.

There's no doubt this could be the best draft class of the BB era, and could be the foundation of the re-birth of the next BB dynasty. But won't know how it stacks up with 2003 for a few years. I'm excited to find out though.
