It wouldn't be much of an exaggeration to say thay Paul Brown basically invented modern football. Among the many innovations Brown introduced were the scientific study of game films, detailed playbooks, scores of different practice drills and practice equipment, modern pass-blocking techniques, written intelligence tests for players, a "messenger guard" system for sending in plays, many new passing schemes, situational substitutions, the two-minute drill, the facemask, the tactic of using timeouts to "ice" the opposing kicker etc.

Bill is about halfway to Shula's win total.

Congratulations to our coach! This must mean a lot to him, I know he idolizes Paul Brown.

If Bill Belichick had started his run with the Patriots at a younger age like Don Shula did, he would demolish the all-time wins record. As it stands, Shula's record may never get touched again due to the longevity (he coached from ages 33 to 65, 33 straight seasons). Belichick would have to coach another 17 years, which would put him at age 75. Though I guess if Joe Paterno can still coach at age 83, anything's possible. Regardless of any of this, Belichick is the greatest coach of all-time and continues his legend.
