Default Ravens postgame quotes - claim they played Pats + Refs

NFL network postgame snippets:

Chris McAlister: "...hard to pay against the Patriots and the refs....They [NFL] put the crown on top of them and want them to win...."

Jamaine Winborne: "...they get a lot of calls.." (He added more phrases in an incoherent manner something like you watch the tape and you can see them getting a lot of calls.)

Terrell Suggs: He started well, calm and clear and said how they came to play and did play on all three fronts but that the Pats made one more play. And then he screws it up by saying ..." [they] got a little help from the referees..."

-----

I saw the entire game again and though I could understand their frustration of losing and giving TWO fourth and two plays in the last drive, it is moronic of these players to claim that the ref's were against them. If they had this to say after the game, you can very well imagine what they must have mouthed during the game. No wonder Moss was livid about their trash talking.

Haha.

The Ravens are now officially the mini Chargers.

McGahee also said there were some bogus calls.

Bart Scott: (He actually spoke quite well and was quite pissed off with the refs) "...I lost my cool towards the end...Ref told me to have some class; okay but you have some integrity..." "then later...ref called another player, not me, 'boy' and looked down on the player down... that's not the way the refs are [supposed to act]..."

Trolls still here? Sore losers, just like their trash-talking players who can't walk the walk.

They did get flagged alot................... but then again, they were blantantly holding and interfering ALL night. I'm watching some Offensive snaps over in slomo. Outside of 1-2 plays, Moss was help or PI's on almost every play his way. Ditto Welker.

As for Bart................... he better work on his "story". He's gonna be getting a serious fine and probably suspended. He made DeAngelo Hall's meltdown look mellow.

It's a shame. The Ravens played us incredibly tough but the penalties called on them tonight were COMPLETELY legit. This tarnishes a performance they could build on. If anything, the PATS got F'd on the calls and non-calls. I can't believe they're whining about that holding call toward the end. That was DEFINITELY a hold. It was a mugging.

Posted this in the mccallister thread but makes more sense here ....

And btw, I've said this before about Billick & the Ravens: their *****ing about officiating post-game all the time ends up becoming a self-perpetuating problem for them.

When you constantly openly criticize the refs in the media, consciously or not, refs are going to be less inclined to have borderline calls go your way in the future.

There was a classic example of a catch Billick challenged a few weeks ago. Text book example of a call that could go either way and you'd not be surprised.

Of course it goes against Billick.

The Jab TD was another example. Don't think anyone would be surprised had they ruled no TD.

But guess what Smoochy? You want to talk **** and whine about refs after any game you lose with a suspect call, the refs aren't gonna cut you any breaks.

Learn to play the game, jerkoff.

Man....check this out on the BG posted by Reiss.

http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal.../reiss_pieces/

More reaction from the Ravens locker room

CB Chris McAlister
(on the calls at the end of the game)
"It's hard to go out there and play the Patriots and the refs at the same time. It is what it is. They put the crown on top, and they want them to win. They won. It's a lot of things. From the replay, [Jabar Gaffney] didn't even have the ball in his possession. ... Obviously, the refs, they're horrible. That's the bottom line. They made a lot of bad calls, and it is what it is. They'll send in their little report to say that we made a mistake on this one, and this should have been that, and that should have been that, but it's too late. They need to get it right out there on the field."

CB Samari Rolle
(on the fourth-down holding call)
"In a game of this magnitude, you don't make that kind of call. Let the players decide the outcome of the game. You can crown them champions now. I'm not taking anything away from them. They are a great team. They're not asking the refs to help them, but it's just an empty feeling. ... It's a travesty when you go out there and play that hard and the refs decide the outcome of the game."

Can't believe Chris McAlister mouthed off like this.
