Maybe some of you wont agree with me but that moment will live with me till the day i die. The moment i prayed and prayed and knew was crucial for the PATRIOTS. Not the kick that won our first Super Bowl in New Orleans, but that 45 yard in the snow storm against the Raiders to tie the game and take it to OT. Had Adam missed,, it was all over. I broke down once it just and God was it just over !!! I prayed those few seconds like my life depended on the kick. But once he made it ,,,,,i promise you my friends i knew there and than that destiny was ours. That kick was the beginning of a Dynasty. Still never know how it got over in the worst possible conditions and may i add against the wind !!! The Almighty God was on our side that moment and helped blow the ball just over. I still watch that kick. I still remember the prayers i said before that kick. I still remember the tears even though the game wasnt over. Because i knew at that moment what was going to unfold.
Peace and blessings for your Holidays coming soon. Abdul

Ok, I won't even go into the if god exists thing and just skip over to the part I go ahead and assume he does.. Do you really think he cares about football? Do you think he sits up there and does the math... "well, more NE fans were at church today so I guess I'll help the kick go through"? Seriously?
And whats with the occasional player doing an interview "I just thank jesus for giving me the skills and strength to run that ball in for a score". Why do I *never* see one on TV saying "Well, sadly, jesus tripped me up before the line and I took a loss on the play"?
The kick had nothing to do with praying/karma/or if you did your superstitious pregame ritual

That was an incredible kick. It's a good thing he line drived it or it probably would not have been good. I think I was personally thinking maybe 10% chance to be good before the play. As for that play being the key to starting the dynasty, I think the tuck rule play had as much to do with it. I'll take it, I'll take both plays, thank you. Every time someone wakes up Al Davis, he still mentions that (tuck rule) play.
Every Pats fan can tell you exactly where they were, and what was going through their head when that kick took place.
Yup, I was over my buddy's house and after the game was over we went outside to play some football in the snow because we were all so amped. I've said it before and I still believe that the kick to send it into OT was the clutchest kick I've ever seen and maybe all time. Just the situation down by 3 in the playoffs at home, 45 yards, the snow, it was surreal. The end of that game was just a rollercoaster with the "fumble" and then it being overturned.

I think (know) I'm a lot older than you and have watched probably more than a thousand football games and you are right, most clutch kick of all time.

Please it wasn't god that made that go through. Remember Sebastian Janikowski hit a field goal from the exact same place the quarter before that made it with 10 yards to spare. I thought he would make it based of that anyway. I had more a memory about Brady driving the team any time it was needed most. It was a great kick but it was more how they go there for me.

Make no mistake, that kick was the result of good exexution by Lonnie Paxton, the holder (Ken Walter?), and Adam Vinatieri. Neither you nor God had anything to do with it.
Please i am not saying i had anything to do with it like apricissimus is suggesting !!! lol, all i am saying is that i cant forget that kick at all and that for me it was a defining moment. As for God, well sorry i prayed and got what i asked for coz in that snow storm i didnt think Adam had a chance. I also dont believe i was the only one praying that moment. Again my point is that THE kick meant a lot and for me it still sticks in my mind all the time.
