I came up with the idea several weeks ago but wasn't sure if people would find it as humorous I did. I also hesitated to sent it out this week after the performance vs. Philly was hardly a "***** You".
Either way, I have been an on & off lurker on this board for a while now. Good to know you guys like it. I'll make sure to update it and post a new one on a weekly basis as you requested. Don't forget my weekly Road Show Ad, too.
I have found it interesting that in the midst of the
New England Patriots' run to a perfect 16-0 season, no
one has come up with a special slogan or motto to
characterize this team and this season (similar to the
Red Sox's "Cowboy Up" and "Why Not Us?" movement).
Since being caught video taping the New York Jets'
coaches in the first half of the first game, Bill
Belichick and the Patriots have been playing with a
different attitude. This team is out to prove that the
Patriots won their three Super Bowl Championships
because they were the best team in the league, not
because they video taped their opposition's defensive
signals. The leader of this cause, Bill Belichick, is
out to silence all of his critics by coaching the full
60 minutes of each game as if the score was tied.
Through their dominant play (with the exception of two
games), Belichick and the Patriots are saying "****
YOU" to the entire NFL, the national media, and fans
everywhere who want to use "Video Gate" to tarnish the
past accomplishments of this team and their coach.
For this reason, I believe it's only proper to declare
this New England Patriots Season as "Bill Belichick's
2007 '**** You, NFL' Road Show".
