Default Colts release DE Rice, re-sign RB Lawton

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3130157

Guess we can expect a rapid turn-around and spinning by resident Colts fans who told us last month that Rice was as good as Freeney

Too funny.

Kind of wish we signed Lawton just to eff with the Colts, though.

Too bad you spent all your money on a couple players and have no decent backups. Maybe you can find some dirt cheap receivers. David Terrell is available

The Colts are having the kind of injuries the Pats have had for years, although you have a long way to go the match the string of injuries we had in 2004.

Good luck finding more dirt cheap players.

Maybe Polian can get another rule changed and get a cap exemption for teams too stupid to manage their cap with foresight and planning.

Yeah, I bet they sure are hurting now. We put so much time and money into signing him after all. Oh, wait, no we didn't. Get lost, troll.

What makes you say we don't have plenty of decent backups? 2 losses by a total of six points. 9-2 and a 2 seed in the AFC.

Booger
Morris
Freeney
Moorehead
Hall

All IR'd and all either starters or a true "contributor" (Hall was doing well on ST's, and most likely would have seen some PT at San Diego at WR)

Guys like

Harrison
Ugoh
Keiaho
Hagler
Gonzo

all out for multiple games

several others out for 1

Sanders
Brock
Diem
Addai

And we don't have decent back ups??

I am confused

What's interesting to me is Addai got dinged in the Atlanta game. Maybe his inury is worse than anyone thought.

He came back and played in that game. It was nothing more than a neck stinger I believe.

Colts only had 3 RB's on the roster to begin with. While it IS possible Addai is injured more than we think. Luke has been on and off the squad at least 1 other time this year. I think Colts felt like the spot Rice took was too valuable when considering our lack of depth at that spot. Had he wowed them, maybe it's different. Disappointed about the release, thought they would give him more time to integrate.
