If Reiss thinks that, than he is wrong and is getting caught up in the moment. Everyone hates the Pats now because we're in the midst of the most dominant, ruthless campaign the NFL has ever seen. Guess what? When the season is over, teams will calm down, and realize that they need to improve THEIR teams and not worry about the Patriots. If anyone thinks ALL 31 other teams won't trade with the Pats, than you are naive. You think Mike Shanahan and Denver will turn down a fair deal because it's the Pats? You think Daniel Snyder will pass up a fair deal? You think Seattle and their owner's deep pockets would turn down a deal? Please.

Wasn't Willis picked around 10 by San Fran. How did BB have a chance to get him?

Yes, but trades don't happen unless something is in it for both teams, so what team is going to be willing to make the Patriots that much better right now?

The point being, teams are going to be reluctant to fork over fair value for that second pick knowing that the best team in the league is going to continue getting better by making that move. Do you really think a team is going to offer the Patriots as much as they would've offered the Niners?

Umm, if the Pats don't want to draft #2 and pay top dollar, than they can do what the Vikings did 2 years ago and not send up their pick in time. Then other teams can race up and draft players until the pats send in their card. They can then end up drafting like 8th or 9th and save money. So, therefore, it doesn't matter. However, if teams NEED a franchise QB and figure they can get one at #2, than why the hell wouldn't they trade up? Especially an NFC team. You are tremendously naive.

I didn't see it's not going to happen. I'm just saying it's another factor to consider, that the Patriots are viewed differently by their success, they aren't the average #2 draft pick team, and won't be as easy a trading partner with what is already considered a tough pick to trade. And who said the Pats wouldn't want to draft at #2? Just because other teams make bonehead moves there doesn't mean the Pats would.

It's only tough to trade if you want more than fair value for it. Lots of teams with the #2 pick don't trade out of that spot because they usually stink and need a BIG NAME player to sell to their fan base. It's hard for a team that stinks(like the Dolphins) to trade down to #15 from the #1 or #2 spot and be able to keep their fans happy. How do you think Pats fans would've reacted if they traded from #1 to #15 in 1993? The fan base would be up in arms. So, in short, no I don't think it will be hard trading out of the #2 spot. I doubt we will get anything more than a FAIR deal that works for both teams, but that's fine.
