Default Amazing Stat - 19 different Patriots have scored a TD (merged)

I was blown away when I read this by Reiss.
http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal.../reiss_pieces/

Brady, Cassel, Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Gaffney, K. Brady, Watson, Faulk, Maroney, Morris, Evans, Eckel, Gay, Hobbs, Vrabel, Andrews, Colvin, Thomas.

I think that the only players on offense, other than the linemen, who haven't gotten a TD are Marcellus Rivers, David Thomas, Kelley Washington and Chad Jackson. I can't fault Thomas and Jackson because they've played so few games.

I'd like to know what the record is for number of different players to score a TD on any given team.

You must have missed it, but Reiss included it in that paragraph:

Quote:
The NFL record for most players scoring a touchdown in a single season is 21, achieved by the 2000 Denver Broncos and the 1987 Los Angeles Rams.

I think Dave Thomas is on IR so he is obviously not going to join that list. Washington and Jackson will eventually get on there I would think and possibly one new guy from the defense on a turnover so I would expect this team to break that record. Oh probably Asante on a pick 6.

Hey just another record to break. Only need 2 to tie and 3 to pass.

Throw TD's to Troy Brown, Chad Jackson, and Kelley Washington, and it's all set. Or maybe have Junior Seau catch one Mike Vrabel-style.

Did Cassell run one in somewhere or is that counting passing TDs?

Missed that, thanks for clearing it up. Crazy that you're backup QB is throwing out 15 yard TD scampers.

While I could see Washington and/or Jackson get one when we're just playing them to see what they got, I think it's much more likely that those new scores are coming from the defense and STers.

I can't find the specific Reiss post with the list right now.
